Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Deseret Marketing LLC ("Deseret Marketing," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit deseretmarketing.com, contact us, or become a prospective or active client. We serve pest control businesses in Utah Valley and Salt Lake Valley and the surrounding area. If you are a homeowner or resident who chatted with an assistant on one of our clients' funnels, see the "Homeowners and residents" section below.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form, book a call, message us through our website chat, or email us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and anything you tell us about your business and goals.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we and our service providers may automatically collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring source, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it's used, and measure the performance of our advertising.
How we use your information
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule calls.
- Provide, operate, and improve our services for you.
- Run, target, and measure advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Send service-related and follow-up communications you've asked for or consented to.
- Protect against fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
Communications consent
If you provide your contact information and consent to be contacted, we may email or call you about your inquiry or services. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase.
Text messaging (SMS) program
Where you give consent on a booking or chat form, we send text messages on behalf of the pest control business you are working with. There are two separate consent scopes, each with its own checkbox and disclosure at the point of collection:
- Service texts — appointment confirmations, reminders, and technician-arrival updates related to a service you requested.
- Marketing texts (optional) — occasional offers, seasonal pest alerts, and service reminders. Up to 2 messages per month. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase, and declining it does not affect your booking.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies by scope as described above. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message (reply HELP for help, or email hello@deseretmarketing.com). We honor any reasonable opt-out request, and an opt-out stops all further texts from us. We keep records of your consent (the language shown, the page where you gave it, and when) as required by law.
No third-party marketing use: phone numbers collected for text messaging, and your SMS consent, are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except our SMS delivery provider, solely to send the messages you consented to.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers that host our site, send email, store data, and provide analytics on our behalf.
- Advertising platforms (such as Google and Meta) to deliver and measure ads, subject to their own policies.
- Legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Regardless of the above, SMS consent and phone numbers collected for text messaging are excluded from any sharing for marketing purposes — see "Text messaging (SMS) program."
Homeowners and residents (End Customers of our clients)
Deseret Marketing operates AI-assisted lead funnels on behalf of our pest control clients. If you are a homeowner or resident who submitted your details or chatted with our automated assistant ("Melina") on a client's funnel, that assistant is an automated AI assistant, not a human, and the information you provide (typically your name, phone number, and service address) is collected on behalf of the pest control business you are trying to reach. That business is the controller of your information for its own services; Deseret Marketing processes it as that business's service provider to qualify your request and coordinate scheduling, and each client also maintains its own privacy notice to its customers. To access or delete the information we hold about you, email hello@deseretmarketing.com. If you checked a consent box while booking, we send texts on that business's behalf under the "Text messaging (SMS) program" section above — reply STOP to any message to opt out.
Connected accounting accounts (QuickBooks / Intuit)
If you connect your QuickBooks Online (Intuit) account, you authorize us to access it through Intuit's API solely to run your billing — creating and reading invoices, customers, and payment status on your behalf. We request the accounting scope only. We store the minimum needed to keep the connection working (an Intuit company/realm id and an OAuth refresh token), encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. We do not sell, rent, or share your QuickBooks data, and we do not use it for advertising. You can disconnect at any time from your Connections page or from within QuickBooks (Apps → Disconnect); doing so revokes our access and we delete the stored connection tokens.
Cookies and tracking
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site function. Where we use advertising or analytics cookies, they help us understand campaign performance and improve our services.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain our business records, and meet legal requirements. When it's no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Your choices and rights
You can request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you. To make a request, email hello@deseretmarketing.com and we'll respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
